Unearthing Brilliance

As a certified executive coach and a senior leader across multiple disciplines in the healthcare, government and insurance industries for more than 20 years, I’ve had the profound privilege of developing authentic and connected leaders and teams. My greatest achievement is that I've helped leaders find joy, balance and new possibilities for their career and their lives.

By listening deeply and exploring values, identity, and purpose, I’ll work with you to identify what you want and support you on the path to seizing it. I’ve seen the re-awakening of my clients’ self-belief blossom into transformational mindsets that lead to results. I truly believe that there is brilliance within each of us, which if unleashed can power a better world.

  • Coaching is set apart by the way a coach approaches a conversation with a client. Coaches don’t give information; they ask powerful questions. Coaches don’t give advice or present solutions; they expand their clients’ thinking. Coaches use active listening skills, leverage powerful adult development and learning frameworks, help clients reconsider their stories, identify self-limiting beliefs, and empower their clients to choose a path forward.

Counselor – seeks to discover issues in the client’s past that are blocking them from success. Special techniques and tools are used to understand these issues and bring healing and closure to them so that the client may move ahead. While coaches and counselors may use many of the same dialog techniques, coaching begins in the present and is future oriented.

Mentor – someone who has expertise in a particular area and shares that learning with the mentee. Mentors provide knowledge, advise, guide, correct and encourage in their field of expertise. Typically, mentors work or have worked in the same profession or industry as the client, whereas skilled coaches can coach clients in any industry.

Consultant – specialists who are paid for solutions. They diagnose the problem and propose a solution. Many times they implement it as well. Coaches also focus on solutions, but draw solutions out of the client. Coaches support the client in creating a plan of action and implementing it. Ultimately, clients gain long-term problem solving capacity.

  • That’s okay! While I typically coach on Zoom, I am flexible and happen to really enjoy coaching by phone as well. I totally get that sometimes you just don’t want to be on camera or perhaps you want to move while we are coaching. That’s great! I like Zoom coaching, because it allows me to notice subtle body language or elements of your space that may be influencing you or signaling something that you’re not expressing out loud. On the other hand, coaching by phone enables me to tap into a deep listening skill – creating a deep and clear connection between us, free from distractions. It also may allow you to let go of any self consciousness or desire to “perform” in any way. If you want to coach by phone, I just ask for about 15 minutes of notice by text, prior to the session.
